Account deletion is permanent and irreversible. It removes your account, all vehicles, maintenance records, messages, reminders, and associated data. This cannot be undone.
Option 1: Delete from the app (fastest)
- Open My Car Companion on your device or at mycarcompanion.org/app
- Sign in to your account
- Go to Settings → Delete Account
- Confirm the deletion in the dialog
Your account and all data are deleted immediately.
Option 2: Request deletion by email
If you can no longer access the app, email us at paul@thecooconsultant.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request" from the email address associated with your account. We will verify your identity and complete the deletion within 30 days.
What gets deleted
- Your account and sign-in credentials
- Your profile information (name, email, phone)
- All vehicles and maintenance records
- All messages, reminders, and service requests
- Push notification device tokens
- Uploaded photos and documents
What may be retained
- Payment records held by Stripe or Google Play are retained by those processors per their own policies and legal requirements. Cancel any active subscription before deleting your account.
- Anonymized analytics and crash data that cannot be linked back to you.
